    20 Feb 1900 - MR. E. A. SKEET OPOTIKI, Sunday - The death has occurred in Opotiki of Mr. Ernest Albert Skeet, aged 70 years. Mr Skeet was the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs R M Skeet, of Gisborne, and spent the greater part of his life in the Poverty Bay district. He was well known to settlers throughout Poverty Bay as a building contractor. He had been living in retirement in Opotiki for six years. In his younger days Mr Skeet was one of Gisborne's most prominent Rugby players, gaining representative honours in several seasons.
