  • Death at Ladybrand: 1st February 1902, 6th. Bat. 18th. Company Lancashire Yeomany, 1245 Wm. B. Smith from wounds accidently received on 21st January 1902.( Evening Post 27th. January 1902).

    He had requested on completion of his service to the 18th Coy. Imperial Yeomany to be transferred to the N.Z.6th Contingent which was returning to New Zealand at the same time thus saving him the additional journey back to New Zealand after being discharged in England. AWMM
