    Private Harold D. Blake, killed in action in France on October 12, was the fifth son of Mrs. Blake, of Church Road, Epsom. He left with the fourteenth reinforcements, and was transferred to the machine-gun section on arrival in England. He was educated at the Epsom school, and up to the time of his enlistment was employed in the maintenance branch of the Railway Department. (Auckland Weekly News, 8 November 1917, p. 22) AWMM
