  • National Archives includes a letter dated 1902, re payment for service, addressed as Konini. Leonard moved north, 'while comparatively young', first to Sanson, then to Pio Pio where he farmed. Descendants still live in the area. His parents, George & Martha, lived at Konini, near Pahiatua (near Palmerston North), where they owned a dairy farm and had been there since 1890. Married Maria Maude Roadley, 1910. Family source. AWMM
