      WEDDING BELLS.
At Wainui a large number of guests assembled at the invitation, of Mr and Mrs William Cooper to witness the marriage of their eldest daughter to Mr William Eustace Langford, who is well and favorably known throughout the district, having been one of Gisborne's representativesin South Africa, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. The wedding was a very pretty one, taking place in the large library, which had been tastefully adorned for the occasion. A large floral arch was erected, from the centre of which swung a marriage bell, constructed of beautiful white flowers. The Rev J G Paterson was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a becoming gown of white silk, trimmed with chiffon. She wore the customary wreath and veil. Her sisters, Misses Freda and Emily Cooper, were her bridesmaids, and wore pretty costumes of white muslin, trimmed with insertion. Mr H. Hill was bestman, and Mr Chas. Cooper was groomsman. After the service the guests were entertained by Mr and Mrs Cooper at a sumptuous wedding breakfast. The health of the bride and bridegroom was toasted with enthusiasm, and after receiving the congratulations of their friends the happy couple left for their home at Te Hua about 11 o'clock. The bridegroom's present to the bride consisted of a dainty little gold watch. The wedding presents were very numerous, testifying to the esteem m which the recipients are held by their many friends Public - Lorraine M - Researcher - 15 July 2015 - Poverty Bay Herald, Volume XXXI, Issue 10016, 6 April 1904, Page 2
