      Embarked for South Africa from England as an extra Officer of the 1st Contingent, reported at Orange River about February 1900. He was instructed to return to Capetown and join the New Zealand Hotchkiss Machine Gun Battery and was then given command of it AWMM
    • A pretty little wedding took place this morning at All Souls Church, Devonport, when Captain Wall, of the Royal N.Z. Artillery, was married to Miss Maggie Graham, third daughter of Mr J. B. Graham, of this city. The bridesmaids were the Misses Gladys and Beryl Graham, sisters of the bride. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Maher. The happy couple left per Wainui for Christchurch, where Captain Wall is at present stationed. PERSONAL.

      Sister Winifred Elizabeth Wall is 30 years of age and is a granddaughter of the late Mr. J. B. Graham, a solicitor in Auckland for many years. She was born in Heathcote, C'hristchurch, and received her education at the Sacred Heart Convent, Remuera. Shortly after leaving school she commenced her career as a nurse at the Auckland Hospital, and from there went to the Whangarei Hospital, where she secured her double certificate. She then transferred to the Wakefield Private Hospital, where she was a sister for five years. Sister Wall was a great favourite with all who came in contact with her because of her efficiency as a nurse and happy disposition. Praise for her by those under whom she served is particularly high and it is said of her telant now she is on overseas service she is the "right nurse in the right place." Sister Wall was the daughter of the late Captain Wall, a New Zealander, who was trained at a military college in England, and later served with the Imperial Forces in the Boer War. He was invalided home, and lived in Christchurch for some time, and then served as Officer Commanding the Permanent Forces at Fort Cautley. Sister Wall was orphaned when quite a small girl, and she was brought up in her grandfather's home at Devonport. She is highly popular, and apart from nursing her interests centre on sports, such, as swimming, tennis and golf.
      ARMY WEDDING MIDDLE EAST CEREMONY The Church of the Holy Family, Helwan, was recently the scene of the wedding of Sister Winifred Elizabeth Wall, New Zealand Army Nursing Service, only daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. W. T. Wall, of Auckland, and Captain L. W. Roberts, New Zealand Army Service Corps, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Roberts, of Auckland. The bride, who is a member of the nursing staff of No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital, was given away by Colonel D. Pottinger. Miss K. Wright, Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. was bridesmaid and Captain W. E. Col ton was best man. Officers of the bridegroom's unit formed a guard of honour. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Sisters' Home, where Mat ron Mackay was hostess. WOMAN'S WORLD
