  • John Ramsey was the son of Georgiana John (formerly Ramsey), of 53 Russell Square, London, England, and the late Paul Julius Kitz. Born at Melbourne, Australia.

    Embarked Alexandria for Gallipoli, 12 April 1915.
    Detached from Details Camp to proceed to Anzac Sidi Bishr, Alexandria, 3 August 1915; rejoined unit, 9 August 1915.
    Admitted to Field Ambulance, 13 September 1915; rejoined unit, 17 September 1915 (no further details recorded).
    Disembarked Alexandria, 26 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).
    Embarked Alexandria for France, 6 April 1916.
    Awarded Military Medal, in the field, 28 October 1917.
    Wounded in action, 11 January 1918 (gun shot wounds, left face and right thigh), and admitted to 101st Field Ambulance.
    Died of wounds, 11 January 1918.
    Medals: Military Medal, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
