    First attested in Trentham 23 August 1915 with the New Zealand Army Service Corps and was discharged being medically unfit with varicocele 26 August 1915.

    Served with the Army Service Corps 1916 in Wellington; then the Royal New Zealand Artillery, Wellington; and then Auckland from December 1916 to 1918.

    Not on 1923 Roll of Honour, Archway, a Joseph Junior Desmond is listed by the St Johns Branch NZSG, as a First Reserve, from Wellington AWMM
