  • The Fort Qu'Appelle was sunk in the Central Atlantic by U-135. She was on charter to the Ministry of War Transport (MOWT). Alexander Butler was one of the 12 crew killed along with the Master and one of the 2 gunners. AWMM

  • Alexander Braid Butler was my grandmothers (Euphemia Lyle Garmonsway) brother and traveled to New Zealand with his mother and sister when she came out here as a war bride, after World War One.
