  • Whilst an apprentice at Tourist Motors and Farming Co.I worked with Jack and he acted as my mentor.I respected this man,an automotive mechanic and electrician.Jack knew his stuff and had an abrupt, decisive way of analysing a job and bring about a timely completion of a task. His forte was electrics ,a discipline I’m sure he mastered in 2nd WW conditions at working on Fords earlier. My condolances to the family some members who I have met in the past.I remember Jack used to like packing up and heading up to the lake with the caravan, maybe allowing Jocelyn to do a bit of water skying.I actually attended school with Jack’s son in law, Tony(St Mary’s,St John’s College).I have fond memories of those years in Hastings, and Jack’s guidance and forbearance with struggling and over exuberant apprentices.May he Rest In Peace.
