    26 Apr 1943-22 Aug 1944 in the Pacific
    14 May 1945-10 Feb 1946 Far East Rank reduced to T/Cpl arrive in Egypt aboard HMT91 for role in School of Military Intelligence at Maadi Camp.

    Lecturer, Teacher, published author of Polynesian research in French and English
    He was of small stature with height on enlistment to NZDF 5'8" - Medium build, hazel eyes and brown hair. Jim played half back in the Welllington College Rugby XV.
    He attended Wellington College, was an excellent student being awarded Proxime Accessit to Dux in December 1938.


    In 1947 Sep — Age:25 he sailed for Paris with wife and son Michael to take up scholarship awarded from the Sorbonne University in Paris. AWMM
