    Attended Frankton Primary School

    Raised age at enlistment for WW2 by three years he was aged just 18 years and placed under Compulsory Military Training Act with the 4th LAFV Regiment reaching position of Squadron Sergeant

    Volunteered, seconded for Special Operations Australia and served as part of 'Z' Special Unit in British North Borneo during World War II. He took part in Operation 'Semut 1', entering Borneo in June, 1945.

    Author of Silent Fleet (1993) an account of the Special Operations Australia and an account of the New Zealand Army involvement, special operations Australia : South West Pacific World War 11 (2001)

    Service held at St Mark's Chapel, Papakura Military Camp, 10 May 2008; Padre Major Mike Subritsky.
