  • I had the privilege of wearing my Dads medals at a wreath laying ceremony as part of a trade mission delegation to Korea earlier this year. Enroute to Korea I showed a photo of my Dad sharing drinks with his army mates to a fellow delegation member. He became very emotional as his uncle who sadly did not return home was sitting next to my dad in the photo. He held tight to the photo when we visited the remembrance wall and we all shed tears for those who didnt return home.

  • On visiting the Auckland War Memorial, Crystalbelle, Hinemaia and Mapihi searched for their grandfather Pene Tewahanga Taretana Dalton. We think of him everyday never to forget the wonderful person he was. War brings hurt never should we go through such events again. Soon to end we remember them forever. With love Crystal Belle Tarina Dalton-TeMoananui, Hinemaia Emerena Erena Davis and Mapihi Kohou Tuputu Ranga Awatea Tepotiki Davis.
