  • William McAllen was the son of William James McAllen and Margaret McAllen, of Auckland.

    CWGC has date as 28 December 1942. SS Empire Shackleton was damaged by U225 28 December 1942, and again damaged by U123, then sunk by gunfire from U435, N of the Azores. Crew rescued by HMS Fidelity which was sunk on 30 December. AWMM
