    Raised in the small rural town of Waitotara, enlisted and fought in Italy as part of the 2NZEF. With the 22nd Battalion, he participated in the battles of Cassino, Senio, Trieste and in the advance to Florence. (Source: Cenotaph Data Entry Form)
