  • Married Elizabeth (nee Willis) in 1883, Napier. His wife was the daughter of Robert Willis (1878) and Sarah (nee Smart) also of the 65th Regiment and Foot

    He served as a boy in the Crimea, then at 18 years he joined the 70th.

    Came to New Zealand aboard the Daniel Rankin in 1861 and served with the 65th in New Zealand

    He lost his arm in a building accident 1886

    Collapsed and died on a Hastings Street in 1909 AWMM
