    Volunteered for enlistment in 1916 and was rejected because of a strained heart. Resubmitted for medical and declared fit 13 May 1917

    Service reckoned from 2 May 1918 but was placed on leave without pay 23 July 1918 and finally discharged from service 6 August 1919 having served in New Zealand for 83 days AWMM
