    Awarded OBE (1975).

    "Group Captain Tucker was a pilot with the Royal New Zealand Air Force for 35 years, completing Pacific tours with the 16th Squadron, in 1944 and 1945 and a posting to Japan in 1946 with 14 Squadron. In 1952 he became Commanding Officer of 75 Squadron and later Deputy Director of Operations in the Royal New Zealand Air Force Headquarters and would later command 14 Squadron in Malaya. In 1961 he was appointed the New Zealand Joing Services Liasion Officer in Singapore and held several significant posts, including Deputy Head of the New Zealand Defence Liaison Staff in London. In 1958 he earned a Distinguished Flying Cross in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in Malaya. He was also made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire."
