  • On this ANZAC day, 2025, I lay this Poppy for my Grandfather William Charles Phillips. I remember you today, and always for all that you were and all you sacrificed. Watching the livestream of the Auckland Dawn Service for my first ANZAC day away from home and the tears are flowing... Picturing you marching in the earlier years in the parade, your medals upon your chest and then your final send off from our family while the Last Post was played.

I miss you Poppa, every single day. Remembering my grandfather on this National day of remembrance as we navigate this modern world with the new wars, pain, conflict and suffering that exists.

    We will remember them.
    I will always remember you.

    Your Katie-Jane xx
