Vincent was flying a Halifax bomber like this when shot down by a night fighter over Rheinberg Germany. The crew were, Sidney Brown (Air Bomber), John Sidney Wilson (Air Gunner), Vincent Herbert Hatchard (Pilot), William Tressillian (Flight Engineer), John Leedham (Wireless Operator). All were killed and are buried in the Rheinland War Cemetery, Germany.
