  • Son of Frederick Charles and Fanny May Richardson, of Feilding.

"Left School at the end of 1908, returning to his home at Waituna West to assist on the farm. In August, 1914, he volunteered for active service, leaving the country with the Expeditionary Force in October for Egypt, where he finished his training before he was sent to Gallipoli on May 8th with the Wellington M.R. (6th Manawatu Squadron). He was killed in action August 9th, 1915, on top of Sari Bair, information to this effect being received by his elder brother and others who fought with him, though nothing official is actually known."
