      Following the defeat of the Brunei rebellion at the end of 1962 the Indonesian Foreign Minister announced a policy of 'confgrontation' against Malaysia, justifying this Indonesian expansion as a response to hostile neo-colonialist / imperialist policies against Indonesia.
