    Served with the Coastal patrol in WW2 and at North Head on the staff of the Naval Officer in Charge Auckland (NOCA).

    A yachtsman he owned the Corsair and Winsome.

    He retired in 1955 from the Bank of New Zealand.

    Attended Auckland University College (now the University of Auckland).

    Reported as serving at this shore establishment in September 1918 Palmer recruit enlisted at Auckland in 1916 AWMM
