      Listed as Arda Hema Hakaraia on the Nominal Roll and by BDM. Named Arda Mango by whanau. AWMM
    • Arda Mango Hakaraia. Son of Hema Whata Hakaraia and Charlotte Hakaraia.

      Commonly known as Arda but also used his Maori name Mango. he was named after his ancestor Mango (Ngati Mango) which was the original name for Ngati Toarangatira.

      Arda had other siblings and many of his whanau still reside in Otaki where he lived up until his death.

      Arda had one daughter to Kiripuae Aomarere of Otaki. On 30 August 1946 Ariana Aomarere was born. She is his only living issue. Ariana has five daughters of her own and 4 grand children, 3 boys and 1 girl. The line of Arda lives on in all these mokopuna.
