Pop, today we give thanks to you and thousands of other men and women who courageously fought for our countries. This morning we stood in our driveway with several candles flickering away, reflecting on the bravery, the tragic lives lost ....& just how fortunate we are as a generation to have the freedom we do today. Thank you for your service Pop, you together with Nan were in our thoughts.

My precious Dad. I could not be prouder of you as NZ/Australia honour all the service Personnel who gave their all (& still do) protecting our countries. You joined the Infantry of a country that wasn't your own but made my Mum (& your wife of nearly 67yrs) so so proud that you fought with her countries men and women. Today I also honour your own Father (My Grandfather Herbert Arthur Raggatt) who in the 1st, World War spent time in Gallipoli before being Medically Discharged. Through his example you then in turn took up arms in the 2nd World War. Thank you for the many diaries you kept during your years away. They have enabled me (& your precious Grandchildren) to learn about those four years of your life you which you gave so willingly to ensure both our countries were able to continue enjoying the freedom you all enabled us to have. ♥️❤♥️❤ Always loved and remembered Dad.

Pop- this year's ANZAC Day commemorations are going to be the first time in Australia's history since the beginning of ANZAC Day commemorations that we as a nation, will be unable to come together in various communities to recognise, honour and pay our respects to all servicemen and servicewomen who have served or are currently serving in armed conflicts.

Due to COVID, we cannot march in your stead as part of the usual march in Melbourne from Flinders Street to the War Memorial. We are not permitted to leave our homes unless absolutely necessary, and gatherings indoors or outdoors of more than 2 people from different households have temporarily be banned. So, this year, someone on Facebook proposed that we stand in our driveways and shine a light/torch/light a candle, anything really, that will 'light up the dawn.'

My dear Dad “Snow” Raggatt is in my heart forever.

On the 4th of Nov. 2019 his beloved wife Muriel “Jean” Raggatt aged 97 years flew with the angels & after 67years of marriage they are now together again with their dearly loved Son Paul James Raggatt (05/12/46-24/10/64) ❤️
They will be resting together at the Lake Tce. Cemetary in Mount Gambier Sth Aust. on 5th Dec 2019.
Forever missed by their family whose lives have been much enriched by these three beautiful people now at rest in
Gods house ❤️❤️❤️

Anzac Day 2019 and your loving wife JEAN (now 97) and myself think of you with much pride on this day. Thank you for sharing so many memories of your exploits in World War 2 & we honour you along with all New Zealanders on this day. We continue to love and miss you every day. 💋💋❤️❤️

2018 Another year without you but being able to look at your photos (during your WW11 service today being ANZAC day in particular) just brings you back to us. I sit here with Mum honouring your service to her beautiful NZ in WW2 and am reminded of your pride taking part in three Anzac Parades here in Melbourne. Our lives go on without you but we have our memories.

As I sit watching the ANZAC day march here in Melbourne I once again give thanks to the men & women of NZ & AUSTRALIA who gave more than can ever be paid back. Dad I love that you kept your diaries of your time overseas fighting in WW2. I love that you taught me to be so proud of your Dad too (Galipoli) & proud of what the Allies sacrificed for the freedom I have today. Your wisdom, love & guidance is with me every day & I love that I have my beloved Mum (who at 95yrs of age still misses you terribly.) to share my memories of you with. Thanks Dad for being who you were & we celebrate you today.

Anzac Day 2016 memories of my wonderful Father. Always missed but never forgotten. It is so nice being able to visit this site & read all about the service of my Dad in the NZ Infantry World War 2. I will watch the march on tv & wish you were still with us but I have so much pride being the daughter of someone who has left such huge footprints. I can only continue looking after my Mother (his beloved Jean) & this Anzac Day we will raise our glass & thank God that "Snow" was ours.

Love that you were my Dad & I am so proud that you served in the NZIF during WW2. This ANZAC day ( 2015) brings back the memory of you marching in the Parade in Melbourne being pushed in your wheelchair by your Granddaughter Jody. How proud we were to see you front & centre under the banner. Our NZ/Australia countries are what they are today due to the courage of its service men & women (yourself included) who so gallantly served. I miss you every day but am so greatful to have so much of your wisdom imparted to me. RIP Dad and I can never thank you enough. Your loving daughter JUDY

My darling Husband of almost 66yrs. I lost you eight years ago but you remain with me every day. This ANZAC day I am reminded of how you married me & even though you were Australian you joined the NZ Infantry Forces & fought overseas for five years. How proud I was (& still am) of you & when you returned our life together restarted. Your service to the NZ/Australia campaigns helped make these two countries what they are today. My darling Dad miss you every day of my life & what better day than ANZAC day 2015 to say how proud I am to be your daughter. I will always remember how proud you were to march with the NZ contingent in the ANZAC Parade here in Melbourne with your grand daughter Jody proudly pushing your wheelchair. You had every reason to be proud. Five years serving overseas in WW2 to make sure NZ/Australia remain the wonderful countries they are today. In loving memory of my wonderful husband of almost 66yrs. Not a day goes by without your ever loving presence being felt by me. Today being Anzac Day (25/4/2015) seemed the perfect opportunity to add to this page. I will love you forever & am so very proud that even though you were Australian born you married me & went to War with my countrymen & women to help make New Zealand the place it is today.
