  • My grandad was a great man He use to take me to my rugby on saturday mornings He taught me farm life He was a quiet man who never really talked about his past. I always looked upto him There is not a day go by that i dont think of him He had a dry sence if humor but a heart of gold He was and always will be my grandad I love him i miss him dearly

  • My Dad didn't talk much about what he went through in the Pacific as I was growing up , but when my son joined the NZ Navy , he opened up to both of us more. He didn't keep in touch with anyone really after he returned home, as he tended to be a very private man.
    Public - Jan - Child - 16 February 2017
