  • When my father (Athol's brother) saw him off at Frankton Jct Station all those years ago he thought he would never see him again. Athol's quiet achievements were inspiring but always he was reluctant to discuss events. One night he described how the bullets he fired from his plane ricocheted back at him in his plane. He didn't like the thought of taking lives so his shooting was confined to engines. Athol, you were always a good man.

  • Not a day goes by where I don't think about you Papa. You never stopped giving and always sought ways to help others. Till this day I still mourn for you my Papa. I wish you were still here to see me grow, to meet my first boyfriend, to be here for my graduation and to be with me through everything else life has to offer. I can't wait to see you again in Heaven. I hope you're proud of me and all I've accomplished. I wouldn't be the person I am today without your guidance, love and upbringing. Be safe and watch over me...From your beloved Grand daughter.... Jackie xx
