    Husband of Paddy; father of Deidre, Bronwyn.

    Jack's father served in the British military for 25 years (1st Irish Rifles and Military Police) before bringing his family to New Zealand. They settled in Swanson.

    Four brothers served in wartime, Eric Winter (435716); Jack Winter (203999); Hugh Winter (23778), William Edward Winter (5405) was KIA Greece 20 April 1941 Merchant Navy and Korea.
