    • Alfred Roberts was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Roberts, of Auckland, New Zealand. AWMM
    • This is incorrect. ? from original CWGC entry. Parents Edward and Emily Elsum ROBERTS, nee GOLDEN, were deceased at the beginning of the war. Mother Emily died 7 Sept 1903 of pneumonia and father died 12 October 1907 of heart disease. W.D. was Alfred's younger brother William David, (born 1901) sometimes known as Jack Public - Elizabeth Anne - Other Relative - 19 June 2015 - "prinout " of birth of Alfred and deaths of parents, Internal Affairs Dept, NZ.

  • I am married to the grandson of the younger brother of Alfred's mother, and have been researching Alfred and his family. I often think of such a young life lost only a few years after losing both his mother and father.
