Learning about your experience in the Vietnam war has been nothing but extraordinary. We thank you for the sacrifice and bravery you showed in the face of war. Your opening up to us and remembrance of all you saw happen, allowed us to have a much more refined understanding on the importance of remembering those who fought for the lives and futures of others.

Because of you and Bill Papuni, John Adams and John Galley, you allowed Phillip Barwick to live a wonderfully inspiring life. Kath, Norman and everyone who participated in the creation of 2024's ANZAC service are so touched by your bravery and are exceptionally honoured to have been able to showcase and represent your values, comradery and dedication to saving the young men who fought along side you in Vietnam.

Though you weren't given your medal, we know that its yours.
