  • Nga mihi o te waa ki a koe... I remember seeing you for the first time when you and your Ngapuhi mate came home to see mum, you both were on leave. You were a radio operator in Malaya. Never saw you again until Uncle Noble's tangi, i was 23. I always knew you did two tours, thought they were both in Malaya. They said you did the 2nd tour running away from mum. I remember when i was in the Oasis in Waiouru. Crete Haami asked me if i knew Papa Hautapu, and i said i was seeing you the next weekend in Flaxmere and i would ask you. I remember your reaction and the korero that followed. I told Crete that you were Papa Hautapu and he was your cousin twice removed on his mothers side. I remember the korero we had about the falling brick, falling brick. A nice memory shared. Can't say i am happy about the whanau trust you put in place. Well S*** happens, Just gotta deal with it. Moe mai ra.
