    Served as a Presbyterian missionary during the Depression

    Owned and operated the Taranaki franchise for Frigidaire prior to WW2. Built New Zealand's first air conditioning plant in Hawera cheese factory in 1937

    Past President, New Zealand Institute of Measurement and Control (Fellow and Life Member)

    Contributor to New Zealand Engineering News into his eighties.

    Author of Cassino to Trieste : A Soldier's Story:

    Lived from 1983 on Waiheke Island where he busked with his banjo-ukelele to raise fund for the Waiheke Kindergarten

    Completed a B.A. in Philosophy at Victoria University in 1997, aged 84
