I don't recall meeting you but I would have liked to. Thank you for helping to bring Nana Sam, Auntie Phil and Auntie Marie into the world. They are such wonderful people. I look forward to researching more about you. Love your great grand-daughter xx

Joe Wilson, 32111 Engineers , Egypt, Poland, Twice a POW, Swapped Identity with British Flight Lieutenant Jack Lawrence to facilitate his escape back to join the RAF. Almost shot up by a strafing German plane while on a motor bike running messages, lost his hearing when a bomb exploded and he had seconds to jump into an ancient olive tree, saving his life. Worked with the Crete underground, living with a family, saw them taken away to be shot for harbouring him, watched the higher ranked officers leave Crete from Melamie, leaving the Allied troops to fend for themselves. At Age 90 Joe returned to Crete under his own steam with his son and discovered (to his great relief) the family had only been imprisoned. Sadly, the woman of the family had passed away only 6 years earlier. My dad & Jack (whom I have made contact with recently) were heros, sadly by then my dad had passed away.
