  • Eric Tayler was the son of Archdale and Lilias Tayler, of 180, Manukau Rd., Parnell, Auckland

    Attended Auckland Grammar School in 1907.

    Attained rank as 2nd Lieutenant in the Territorial Force, 3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own)

    Applied for the commission in the York and Lancaster Regiment, based in India from New Zealand and was accepted just before War was declared. The Regiment was ordered to the Front in France.

    Surname listed as Taylor by Archway (April 2011)

    Attended Auckland University College (now the University of Auckland). AWMM
