  • Only son of David Levin, who died very young, and Annie Levin. Annie later remarried, Harry Jolson.

    Husband of Valda Jacobs married in March 1948 and had two children, son David and daughter Judith.

    Served in New Zealand 2.5 years; then the Pacific 1.5 years and the Middle East 1.5 years.

    In the Middle East he was based outside Cairo, as Base Sergeant Major. Whilst there he was temporarily attached to a South African Provost Company.

    The war in Europe ended and he was retrained for the jungle in South East Asia.

    He started his own business, Elvin Clothing with the help of his stepfather, Harry Jolson, making pyjamas for Farmers and children's clothing for Caro & Jarrett.

    He was a Justice of the Peace in 1965 and served as a Court sitting JP from 1975 for 25 years.
