  • Peter Baxter was the son of Dr William Whittington Baxter and Ellen Rebekah Baxter nee Atkins.

    Husband of Ruby Alice Perks nee Woods. Father of two.

    Attended New Plymouth Boys High School

    Peter met his wife Ruby because he boarded in her family home in Devonport. He lists their address on his enlistment papers. Peter returned to New Zealand ill and convalesced with her family in Devonport. They later married.

    His brother, Richard James Whittington Baxter (Merchant Navy), also served in WW2. AWMM
