      Son of Annie Cashmore Arnold who died very young, when Eric was just 9 months old and he was raised by his grandparents Jessie and Henry Arnold.

      Eric never knew that the people who raised him were in fact his grandparents.

      Husband of Kathleen Edith Eleanor Agnes, permanently separated.

      Employed by the Union Steam Ship Company, Auckland.

      Dismissed from Defence Forces for misconduct and insubordination 15 June 1944, New Zealand Gazette

      Dismissal cancelled, all privileges restored September 1945, Gazetted. AWMM
