    Son of William Lowe and Bertha Sanderson, of Ahuroa, North Auckland.

    Private A. R. Sanderson, who died of wounds, was the youngest son of Mr. W. L. Sanderson, of Ahuroa. He was born and educated at Ahuroa. He entered the Railway Service in 1913, and at the time of his enlistment in the ninth reinforcements was porter on the North Auckland Main Trunk line. His brother, who went to Gallipoli with the third reinforcements, is serving in France. (Auckland Weekly News, 1 November 1917, p. 22)
