    • Walter's parents were Walter James Dew (born 14 Sep 1884 at Carterton, NZ, died 5 Jan 1972 in NZ) and Sarah Atcherley Benbow (born 2 Aug 1888 at Ormondville, Hawke's Bay, NZ, married there 9 Nov 1909, died 27 May 1969 in NZ).

      In 1938 Walter was a civil servant and was living with his parents at 316 High Street North, Dannevirke, Tararua, NZ. From at 1956 (or earlier) until 1963 (or later) he was living with his wife Dorothy Jeune Dew at 191 High Street, Dannevirke, NZ. In 1946 he was a civil servant but by 1957 he was a wool buyer.

      From 1969 (or earlier) until 1972 (or later) Walter and Dorothy were living at 6 Victoria Avenue, Dannevirke, NZ. During this time Walter was a company director.

      Walter was still a company director, and still living at 6 Victoria Avenue, Dannevirke, NZ, in 1978 but Dorothy was no longer with him.

      Walter Atcherley Dew died 7 August 2009 in New Zealand, and was buried 12 August 2009 at Mangatera Cemetery, Dannevirke, Tararua, NZ. His obituary indicated that he had remarried, was a father of two, and a stepfather of one.     • Walter married Dorothy Jeune Orange on 25th November, 1944. A daughter Annette Gail was born on 13th April, 1946 and a son Peter Anthony on 7th December, 1949. They lived at 191 High St, Dannevirke from 1945 until they moved to 6 Victoria Ave, Dannevirke in 1962. Dorothy Jeune died on 30th September, 1975.
