  • I worked with Wally in around 1968 at Oakley Hospital in Point Chevalier. He was a great friend to me and lively colleague. It was my first job and he showed me the ropes. His war stories were entertaining. He had retired from Knighsbridge carpets.

  • As Wally Dryland's grandson, I often think of the stories my Gang Gang told me about his time in Egypt and Crete. My only regret is I should have listened harder, more often and asked more questions. I am very proud of the contribution he, his borthers, father and the many other servicemen and women made to the peace and tranquility we enjoy in New Zealand today. Wally's second wife Margaret (Johanna) Dryland (nee Johnstone) was also in the services based here in NZ, so I think of her too at this time. May they all rest in peace and Lest We Forget Reece Stanley Oti MOORS (DOB: 3 April 1968)
