  • Served a total of 5 years, 204 days in the Royal New Zealand Artillery during the Second World War.

    Served in the 17th Field Regiment, while serving in the Pacific with the 3rd Division; on Vella Lavella and Nissan Islands during the campaign.

    In August 1944 he returned to New Zealand for 5 months before being deployed to Italy, where he served with the 4th and 5th Field Regiments.

    He returned to New Zealand in January 1946 where he continued to serve on the Officer Reserve, with the Territorials, until 1970. He died in Wellington in 1976. AWMM
