      Mentioned in Despatches - London Gazette, 28 January 1916, p1210, WA 22/5/10: Sept-Dec Gallipoli Peninsula. Has been at ANZAC without relief from the commencement, employed on the issue of water. Has carried out his duties in an exemplary manner showing great tact, judgement & energy especially under difficult circumstances. | London Gazette 1 June 1917, p5429, Rec No 639 Operations Somme, South east of High Wood, Flers Grid Trenches – September 20th to October 1st 1916. During the above operations Captain Wilson did magnificent work, first as a second-in-command of a Company and latterly in command of a Company. He was killed leading his men in the most gallant way at the taking of the Grid Support Trench on October 1st. This Officer has always displayed the greatest devotion to duty and utter disregard of danger. He did excellent work not only in Gallipoli as Adjutant of his Regiment but also during the summer of 1916 when holding the line east of Armentieres. Killed in action France 2 October 1916 AWMM
