  • Robert Boyte (Bob) was my grandfather. He was an amazing man that loved having his family to visit. As a child we would bus up to the farm in the school holidays. Grandpa would pick us up and take us to New World where we could buy whatever we wanted. I always chose Honey Puff cereal. We loved to go out on the farm, tractor rides, with the dogs. Haymaking and docking and steering out the cows. I have so many memories of going to the farm, Grandmas amazing roast that made me so full I would have to lie on the couch and count the holes in the ceiling to take my mind off my full tummy. I remember christmas get togethers under the big Elm tree. Grandpa didn't like to talk about the war and that was ok. I have 2 teenaged sons and Joshua the oldest absolutely idolized his Grandpa his contribution to WWII. Grandpa was a hard worker as all Farmers were and always happy. Always in my heart POP

  • He was my great uncle Bob and like a brother to my father who was only a few years younger. My father Ross Boyte also served in the war and is still alive today at 91. Uncle Bob always looked after us when we came to visit his farm in Te Miro. He is greatly missed
