  • Matthew was a kind and gentle man. He is remembered with great fondness by those family members who knew him.

He loved ice-cream and we would take him a cone when visiting him at the Masonic Village, Pah Rd (where he lived for many years prior to his death) or buy him one if we went for a drive. Even when my parents gave him an ice-cream cake to share with his friends on his 80th birthday he still wanted a cone!

He often spent Christmas with our family and always enjoyed his glass of sherry and cake.

He was a bit of a rebel and considered a bit of a black sheep but to me he was quiet and gentle with a twinkle in his eye of the mischief he got up to in his younger days and I miss him a lot - Contributed by Marie. AWMM
