    • Civil servant, and writer on Antarctic matters. Secretary, Ross Sea Committee of Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition New Zealand, 1955-1958; Assistant Secretary, Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition Ltd; also with Tourist and Publicity Department 1961-1972. Employed by Geographic Board to draw up Gazetteer for the Ross Dependency 1963-

      Helm Point in Antarctia is named after him. AWMM
    • During WWII Arthur wrote two books about his service.
      Fights and Furloughs in the Middle East (1943)
      Kiwis on Tour in Egypt an Italy (1946)
      After the war he was awarded one of the first two NZ American Field Scholarships, and in following years ran the NZ branch of AFS. Public - Craig - Child - 24 January 2023 - Books referenced here:
