    On 2 May 1946 he was posted to the Retired List, and living at 30 Hackett Street, Ponsonby. His War Gratuity Assessment was 141 Pounds, 16 shillings, 6 pence, with a date of entitlement 31 March 1946. He had served 4 years 338 days.

    During the 1960's and 1970's he was a factory manager for Rylock Company, Marua Road, Ellerslie. By this time he had moved to McCrae Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland.

    RAC by retirement had purchased the company car he used and retired to Turangi. He was a keen trout fisherman and in competition days he could be seen next to the scales weighing the catch. AWMM
