  • Husband of Molly.
    Edward Williams served on board the HMS Braithwaite K468, a Buckley Class ship named after Captain Samuel Braithwaite, built in Massachusetts, USA. It was a Captains Class Frigate primarily used to provide an anti-submarine cover to the convoys they escorted which served both the 3rd & 10th Escort Groups. They accounted for 2 U Boat sinkings, U-1279 & U-989 plus one possible, 20-21 Feb 1945. Which earned those on board the Battle Honours for service in the North Atlantic, English Channel, Normandy 1944, North Foreland & the North Sea.

    Onboard Ted working in communications, Morse Code and Radio receiving, later in Civilian life he made his living from constructing, repairing and selling radios and tv's. He was employed as the General Manager of Columbus Radios in Whakatane, and then opened his own store in Pukekohe.
