  • He was a master at Southwell School in the 1950s and in 1961 became head of Hadlow Prep in Masterton. I think he died about twenty years ago. He was gentle, learned man who did not subscribe to the violent ethos of the school, at least in his actions. He taught me English and French. He has a son, Simon, who is a journalist. He went to Christ's College as a boy, and their Register of Old Boys will give you some information. Hadlow will know when he died, although he died in retirement. That's all I know.
