Mr and Mrs T. Schofield, of Norman street, Gisborne, haye had another sad loss. On the 7th jnst. their eldest son, William, aged 24, died at Auckland' as the result of an accident, and last night they received the sad news that their second son, Hiram, aged 22 years, had been killed in action at the Dardanelles. Private Schofield was of a retiring disposition, and after leaving school went to work for Teat and Friar's, being in the employment of that firm, for about five years. He was also a member of the local territorials, and left with the main expeditionary force.
