  • His son tells us that "Dad's hilight while in Greece, wasa before the battle started, he and a good friend Austen Dean (the painter), while in athens visited the Parthenon very late at night and got caught by the Greek Caretaker" and during the Battle of Ruweisat Ridge, they jumped into the toilet trench to avoid capture!"
